Do I have to get fit before I can do Game On?
No. At the beginning of the course we do a fitness test to determine where you are at and what will be optimal intensity for you, along with any limitations that you have that we need to work with. We cater for all levels, lounge lizards to fitness fanatics. And at the end of the course we do the same fitness test so you can see measurably how far you've come. Honestly if your waiting to get fit before you can do exercise, guess what? Chances are you're making excuses that will hold you back from ever getting started.

How is the Game On style of training different from other group training sessions?
Most group fitness sessions are circuit based, meaning you do a series of conventional activities, eg. stations and routines of star jumps, boxing, lunges, and other conventional strength exercises and fitness activities. Don't get me wrong this training works and we also think it's great. It's just that this is not what Game On training is about.
Most adults do exercise for the sake of exercise, knowing that it's good for them. Although when you're told to eat your vegetables because they are good for you, for most that doesn't make them taste any different, and some like them and some don't but ultimately they're great for you. Now if you could make your vegetables taste like your favourite food that would be fantastic because you'd get something you absolutely love, plus the benefit of something that's fantastic for you.
Well, who says exercise has to be do 10 of these, 20 of these, 10 sprints here to here, etc. Instead imagine a fun mission, challenge, game that had a reason, but underlying the fun and adventure was a strong physiological design to achieve maximal fitness results. Now that's Game On! Underlying there is still 10 sprints here and lifting and carrying and all the stuff that you need to do to get yourself in fantastic shape, but we've put in the hard work to redesign the structure and disguise it as something else. A safe that requires you to work as a team to crack it, find the location of a bomb, and defuse it before your rival teams.
Do you think a child feels like they're working out when they're running around warding off baddies and saving the world? Well guess what? When adults have a reason to do something other than it's good for them it also feels a lot more fun than regular exercise. And I'll let you in on a big secret - they'll put more effort in and get greater results, but will actually feel like they're taking it easier, and time flies by.
What really stands Game On apart is that this is how all the training is designed. There is other great exercise classes out there that through in a few games here and there, but the expertise to design a whole program that's based around games, missions, puzzles, challenge; and knowing what to put where to achieve maximal results - that's where we excel :-)

What is the difference between Game On training and Boot Camp training?
To explain this best we should take a real look at what a proper fitness Boot Camp is, as it has become a term used by anyone running an outdoor fitness session.
Fitness Evolution has run the most successful, fun, interesting and unique Boot Camp on the Sunshine Coast for years (reviewed by Channel 7 Local News, Sunshine Coast Daily, ABC Coast FM, Revive Magazine, and more). Designed and run by ex-military soldiers that have served in Australia and actively overseas. So I believe we have the expertise to say this.
Physical training in the military takes on two main forms -
- Conventional training (believe it or not the same type of group circuit training most people run in outdoor fitness sessions, as well as gym strength training, etc)
- And what's called 'battle PT' (battle physical training) which is the fun scenario based stuff.
Unfortunately in most cases in the military the majority of physical training is more of the conventional stuff, simply because of the effort and resources involved with running exceptional 'battle PT'. What really stands Fitness Evolution's Boot Camp out from the crowd is that our whole course is 'battle PT' based. For us it's worth putting in the extra effort because it makes the course more interesting, authentic and has made it extremely successful.
Now that you've got a good idea about how to evaluate a great Boot Camp we can show you how 'Game On' training is different. (In doing this I know that we are opening ourselves up for copycats, but as I know from experience with our successful boot camp there is always something lost in translation, because you really need to know why we do what we do, not just the what we do, to do exceptionally at it.)
Briefly - Game On training is all fun activities based. It is made up of three types of training sessions, 'Games Days', 'Battle Days' and 'Challenge Days'
- Games Days - you play fun games that don't require a lot of coordination or skill, but are designed to ensure all levels are getting a great workout and having a fun time.
- Battle Days - these are military battle PT style sessions, where you get the experiences like building sandbag defenses, evacuating friendly forces and navigating obstacle courses. (a great fix for all those that love boot camp - but modifiable to suit all levels)
- Challenge Days - Where you have team challenges, where everyone works together putting in their 100% to solve puzzles, deal with scenarios, overcome challenges and more. Survivor meets It's A Knockout! Ha ha ha :-) Where your battling with toxic waste, cracking safes, rewiring communication centres, stopping nuclear catastrophes and many more.
Sounds exciting and adventurous? Well it is. And honestly to design, deliver and run all this properly (to achieve maximal fitness results) takes a lot of expertise and has taken us years in development. When it comes down to it, instead of looking at how people normally do get their fitness results we've looked at how people can. It's been said, "It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on!" :-)
As the pioneers of this new style of fitness training we have decided to stop running our successful Boot Camp program (except for corporate & sports teams) to focus on this new superior style of training. When you develop an aircraft that can go into space, why stay with the one that can only fly around the world? The exciting and challenging thing about this is that most people out there aren't yet aware this style of fitness training exists, and you now are. I hope that's empowering and that you do something with it?

Do you run specific Game On courses for corporate groups, clubs and sporting teams?
Yes. We have found this style of fitness training fantastic for corporate groups and sporting teams. Not only is it great fun and fitness, but excellent for bonding your people to form a strong encouraging and supportive team.
For corporate groups this equals more productive and cooperative staff members that take less sick days. While for sporting teams this means a competitive fitness advantage to out perform your opposition, with the player sync and camaraderie to multiply the abilities of each individual to become a focused and unstoppable team.
We require minimum numbers to be able to run specific personal courses, but can tailor them to suit your needs. Feel free to give us a call and discuss further how we can help you, or drop us an email gameon@fitnessevolution.com.au

How can I make money from telling people about this new style of training
Because this program is unique and different we prefer to grow it through participants telling the friends and family about the great fun they're having and the fast results they're achieving. To say thank you to all our awesome participants that like spreading the word to help others we have implemented a referral rewards opportunity. That is - for each person you refer to do Game On and you receive $50 cash!

Are all the instructors fully qualified?
Yes. All our Game On instructors are qualified personal trainers rather than just standard group fitness instructors, and are current registration with Fitness Australia (the industry's regulatory body). To be able to instruct on Game On all trainers must then undergo a course as a participant, followed by Game On instructor training and then initial supervision to ensure they build their expertise in delivering this unique style of fitness training.

What to wear / bring?
You are provided with uniform shirts for the different days on course which is part of having a team attitude to work together and help others. They come in a huge range of sizes from XXS to 5XL. We suggest you wear shorts (preferably black or a dark colour - just so everyone looks a bit more uniform, but not really essential). Wear a pair of joggers as they give you a lot more support and cushioning than other (if you're unsure and don't want to go out and buy the wrong thing just ask us and we can point you in the right direction)
Bring a bottle of water and a towel, but leave your towel in the car as it is often handy after the session.

Where is the course run?
The course rotates between a number of locations on the Sunshine Coast, all within about 15 minutes of Maroochydore. The Area of Operations list (where to be what days) for each course varies slightly course to course depending on the activities we are doing on that particular course, along with availability of venues, weather, tide times, etc. You will receive a list at the beginning to tell you exactly where to be for each session.
Is the 110% money back guarantee for real?
Yes. Do a complete course (attend all sessions) and if you don't achieve awesome results and have fantastic fun, we will not only give you all your money back, but also give you an extra 10% out of our pocket to thank you for your honesty.
Why do we offer this? Because we have complete confidence in what we do, and love doing it and helping others.

What ages does Game On cater for?
The age range we have had on the course so far has been people 15 years olds right up to people in their 60's. But this is not the limits. We are in the process of developing the children's course, so we encourage you to register as an expression of interest so your children don't miss the opportunity when we launch it, as we limit places to ensure a top level of service to those on the course. A quick call or email will be good. gameon@fitnessevolution.com.au

Who does Game On?
We have a diverse range of people on Game On, various ages, shapes and sizes, with backgrounds from professionals to tradies, retail sales and marketing geniuses to domestic goddesses, students to business owners. And in most cases you initially build fantastic friendships with others without even get around to discussing what you do for work.
Is the course the same each time?
No. We have a lot more activities than can be squeezed into a course and we continually develop new activities. The majority of our participants are people that choose to come back again and again and just continue to build on the great results they've achieved. Because of the massive variety in what we run you can do this style of training for years and still be experiencing new challenges. This is really refreshing from the often repetitiveness of conventional training.

How can I maximise the results I achieve on Game On?
If your goal is fat loss, we can maximise your results by working with your eating side of things as well, as this can have a large impact on achieving fast results. Our team help you with achievable nutritional advice to ensure you don't just get there but also stay there.
For the goals of maximal fitness results the nutrition side can play a part in ensuring optimal recovery between training sessions, along with quality sleep. If you like to do additional fitness training in your week to what you're currently doing on course we can build you a program of possibilities that will complement what you are doing.
Simply discuss your options with one of our Game On instructors who will be more than happy to help out.

Is there shower facilities close by so I can get ready and head straight to work?
Yes. We have shower facilities that you are welcome to use at our exclusive personal training studio along The Esplanade, Maroochydore (opposite the war memorial in the Cotton Tree Park - private parking at rear).
Can I leave the session 15 minutes early in order to get to work?
Yes. We often have people that need to leave a bit early in order to travel and get to work. You still get a fantastic workout and achieve awesome results. The training sessions are quite long to maximise the amount of fitness you are getting in in the week, and we are able to do this because the time flies by feeling like half the time as this style of training is entertaining and fun.

Why don't you see a lot of fitness providers offering Game On training?
Now that we've let the cat out of the bag about the new style of fitness training that we have developed you will definitely see other fitness providers offering Game On style training. For two main reasons - it's great fun and achieves exceptional results. Ultimately we'd love this style of training to be available to everyone. The challenge is the quality of service as we hope people really understand what this style of fitness training really is, and don't do a half baked version and miss lead people by trying to put it under the same banner.
Ultimately even though it's extremely successful, it's not an easy style of fitness training to properly design and deliver taking a lot of effort, creativity and logistics to do well and keep it going. As conventional fitness training is the far easier option you will see most fitness providers choosing to stay with what's always been done, instead of what can be done.

How do I become a Game On instructor?
To become a Game On instructor we require that you already have the minimum qualifications of a registered personal trainer. If successfully accepted as a 'Trainee Game On Instructor' you must first undergo a course as a participant to feel first hand what this unique style of training is like. After this you will have your Game On Instructor training course, teaching you how to deliver and design Game On training to achieve maximal results and fun, and catering for all levels. Followed by a supervised instructor period to help you become the best Game On instructor you can be.
